What commitment looks like to us
Testing Policy for Students
Students who attend class once a week will generally be eligible for one belt test per year, as consistent training and skill development at this pace takes more time.
Additional testing may be possible only if the student is ready—meaning they have shown strong progress, focus, and understanding of their required curriculum.
Please note that belt testing is not guaranteed at every test cycle. Students are assessed individually by our instructors, and will only be invited to test when they have demonstrated the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitude for the next level.
Our goal is to ensure each student progresses at a pace that’s right for them, building confidence and strong foundations along the way.
This is not a race—it’s about growth, learning, and enjoying the journey.
For Students Attending 2x a Week or More
Students who attend two or more times per week receive more consistent training and feedback, which allows them to progress at a faster rate.
These students may be eligible to test more than once per year, depending on their individual readiness, attendance, effort, and mastery of required techniques.
While increased attendance offers the opportunity for more rapid progression, belt testing is still based on individual readiness—not a set schedule. Every student is expected to demonstrate the necessary physical, technical, and mental preparedness before being invited to test.
Regular attendance, focus in class, and a positive attitude all contribute to earning the opportunity to test.
High Performance Commitment Policy
Students enrolled in our High Performance Programs (including competition team, demo team, or advanced training tracks) are held to a higher standard of commitment—both in attendance and attitude.
Success at this level requires consistency, discipline, and accountability. Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes, team practices, and events. Excessive absences or lack of engagement may result in removal from the program or delayed opportunities for advancement.
